THOUGHTS ON COUNTRY LIFE

I remember moving to the country 4 1/2 year ago and being so far away from all my stores and normal shopping locations. I was a bit sad at first and had no idea what was near me and where to go. One of the closest stores to me was a Tractor Supply and I popped in randomly one day to get some items for our homestead. To my delight there was LOTS of cute things! I had never stepped foot in a Tractor Supply before then and boy had I been missing out. They have lots of wonderful home decor pieces and items that make perfect gifts too! It’s now one of my absolute favorite places to shop and explore.

Of course it’s also a wonderful place to find all your animal essentials! See Ava below doing her “daily chores” and pictured are a chicken waterer, bucket, and water trough all from Tractor Supply.

WAYS TO MAKE THE FALL SEASON MEMORABLE

Fall is all about making memories and with the kitchen being the heart of the home there are plenty of ways to make those memories over the season. Here are a few of my favorite fall activities to do with the family.

  1. Bake something together as a family! A pie is always a fun one! Maybe go apple picking and then make the pie together from your fresh apples!

  2. Do a family picnic outside. The weather is so beautiful this time of year! Cook your favorite meal together then go outside.

  3. Go pick pumpkins together! It really is quite fun! If you pick tiny pumpkins you can always carve them out later and have soup night with the pumpkins as your bowls! Super fun, easy, and memorable.

No matter what your favorite fall activity is it’s probably safe to say many of the activities revolve around a working kitchen. A place to gather and make memories together. I love making my kitchen functional and beautiful at the same time. I do this by decorating with pieces that I not only love but truly use. Keep reading to see what a few of my essentials are and how to organize them.

Little Ava helped me bake a pie! Well, she mostly ate the apples but it was still fun!

EASY WAYS TO ORGANIZE YOUR KITCHEN

  1. Use a cake stand to display your pie and also baked goods such as cookies, cakes, brownie’s etc. It can also be used next to your sink to hold your hand and dish soap, lotion, cleaning sponges, and other essential items. Doubles as a fruit stand as well.

  2. A large crock comes in handy when you have lots of wooden spoons like me. I love keeping it right on my countertop and I can grab things when I need them.

  3. A cute tea towel is definitely a must! I keep a stack on hand and my newest one from Tractor Supply with the pig it is one I love so much!

  4. Use items like trays and baskets to organize cooking essentials and to store things like bowls, measuring cups, salt, pepper, etc.

  5. When organizing a kitchen use things like wood, and ceramic. Neutral tones that will blend well no matter how you decorate your kitchen!
